Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia
Federation's mission supports greater awareness of our Jewish identity and participation in life and learning through its Center for Jewish Learning.  Many of Folkshul 's goals are aligned with those of the Center:

• Creating dynamic young adult learning opportunities
• Strengthening synagogues, Jewish organizations and gateway institutions, and other sources of Jewish life
• Supporting teen- and college-age programming

The Congress of Secular Jewish Organizations (CSJO)
CSJO is composed of independent organizations throughout the US and Canada whose unity of purpose is a secular expression of our Jewish heritage, with particular emphasis on the cultural and ethical precepts of Jewish learning.  Each year over the Memorial Day weekend CSJO holds a North American conference for its affiliates.  The conference schedule is filled with speakers, workshops, music, dancing and humor. Folkshul participates in every CSJO conference and is proud to have been a prime sponsor of the 1993, 1998, 2000, 2003 & 2004 conferences held near Philadelphia.

"The Kehilla"

The New Kehilla for Secular Jews
We are the voice of secular and humanistic Jews in the greater Philadelphia area.  We celebrate Jewish holidays and life cycle events and operate our school in a manner that honors the history, values, culture, and ethics of the Jewish people.

We are a multicultural and multigenerational community that welcomes individuals and families — traditional and non-traditional.  We encourage lifelong learning, and actively work for social justice and tikkun olam — repair of the world.  Folkshul is a founding member of the Coalition. In addition to Folkshul, Philadelphia Secular Jewish Organization (PSJO) and South Jersey Secular Jews, affiliates are:

Secular Jewish Summer Camps

Camp Galil in Ottsville, PA, about one hour north of Philadelphia. We are a coed camp for children in grades 3 through 9.  This Habonim-Dror camp emphasizes personal growth, social responsibility, Jewish culture, Israel orientation and Zionism, as well as a full range of popular camping activities including swimming, sports, scouting, hiking, ropes course, crafts, gardening, animals, and social service projects.  The camp is run as a summer Kibbutz. The program includes Hebrew conversation, Israeli folk dancing, kosher kitchen, kibbutz style Shabbat celebrations, sports and other activities.

Camp Keshet for Cultural, Secular and Humanistic Jewish Youth, sponsored by the Society for Humanistic Judaism celebrates the pluralistic message of modern Jewish identity. Centrally located on a beautiful lake in Michigan, the two-week program brings together the fun of summer camp with the celebration of Jewish culture and heritage. Activities include water skiing, go-carting, swimming, and horseback riding, plus Jewish heritage, Israeli dancing and singing, cultural Shabbat celebrations, and humanistic values of caring, responsibility, dignity, self-reliance, tzedakah, and sharing.  The program is for ages 8-16. Call 248-478-6240 or click the link for more information.

Camp Kinderland, a coed camp in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts,
embraces values of peace, social justice and secular Jewish culture. We have a beautiful private lake for swimming and boating, two basketball courts, soccer and softball fields, a rec hall, canteen, and dance and video hall; an arts & crafts shop with kilns and wheels, and the newly renovated Paul Robeson theater and dance playhouse
.

Camp Kinder Ring and Circle Lodge are the summer resort and children’s camp founded in 1927 by The Workmen’s Circle/Arbeter Ring. We are proud of our 78 year history of providing a summer experience of fun for children and adults in a warm Jewish cultural environment. Our mission is to provide children with a safe, fun and Jewish cultural environment in which to enjoy their summer, grow as individuals and make life-long friendships.

Camp Shomria Hashomer Hatzair - Since 1923 Hashomer Hatzair Canada has been building strong, thoughtful, and compassionate human beings. Camp Shomria offers a unique experience in a kibbutz-style atmosphere.  Camp Shomria promotes a strong commitment to Israel, Jewish continuity, social justice and community responsibility through informal education and fun. Located on beautiful Lake Otty, Camp Shomria embodies these values, and provides campers ages 7 to 16 with amazing memories, great experiences, and lifetime friendships.
