Seeking creative, joyful, thoughtful educators for our Secular Jewish Sunday School
Our Sunday school curriculum (grades K-9) centers themes of social justice and human responsibility. Topics of learning include Jewish customs and celebrations, Bible stories and other traditional Jewish texts, Jewish history from ancient to modern times, stories of Jewish resistance, and comparative Judaism. We encourage children to think critically, ask questions, and work together to make the world a better place.
Folkshul is seeking Sunday school teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. Our school meets on Sunday mornings, September through mid-May, from 9:45 AM – 12:30 PM. Curricular resources are provided.
Job qualifications and requirements:

An open heart and mind; creative and collaborative

Experience working with children, preferably in a group setting (schools, camps, after-school programs, sports, etc.)

Experience with, or openness to learning about, Secular Humanistic Judaism

If offered a position, applicant will be required to submit PA child abuse history certification and fingerprinting background check.
Folkshul’s Sunday School program takes place in Northwest Philadelphia. Teacher compensation starts at $33/hour.
